About

This three level, 2800 square foot limestone house with wood trim was built in 1846 by tanner John Bracken, and is among the best examples of the Greek Revival style in Mineral Point. The house occupies one of the city’s largest residential lots, including nearly an acre of land, and has seen recent weatherproofing and maintenance, including a new furnace and water heater, gas-fired fireplace insert, new attic insulation, and a modern shingled roof. A gardener’s or storage shed stands on the property, as does a detached garage in some need of attention. The Bracken House in Mineral Point, Wisconsin.
