Business Insight presented by Arlington Dermatology Who we are, who we serve... Arlington Dermatology is a medical clinic specializing in disorders of skin as well as a General Family Practice. Dr. Bukhalo is a Board- Certified Dermatologist, with over 20 years of practicing in the Northwest Suburbs. We also have Dr. Chris Rivard who is a family practitioner trained in dermatology. Both doctors see patients 6 days a week, at our location at 5301 Keystone Court in Rolling Meadows. Our office is very modern, easily accessible, and comfortable. There are no stairs to get in, so wheelchairs or strollers can get in easily. There are plenty of parking spaces around the building. We are right off Algonquin Road, but we are located on a small street, so traffic is limited. There are some very important characteristics of our clinic. First, we are very family oriented and have several generations of patients coming to see us, children, parents, grandparents. Secondly, we are totally independent of any large groups or hospitals. This means a lot: when you call us, we actually pick up the phone and it is one of us whom you will see when you come in. We welcome patients of all ages and all origins. The doctors speak English, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, and Spanish. So do our personnel. So, all patients can feel very well in their comfort zone. Dr. Bukhalo is a well-known medical researcher, and patients can receive treatment through clinical studies of the most innovative treatments. We accept majority of insurances and accept self-paying patients. We actually establish the fees for uninsured patients based on Medicare fees, so that the cost of visits is not exceptionally high and can be covered. Why should you pick our clinic and not others? Well, as I said before, we provide patients with a very friendly and personalized environment. We listen to patients' comments and often follow their suggestions about our waiting room, workflow, website, and more. We truly believe that patients are our center of attention, day-to- day, with no exceptions. Some of our patients have been coming to us for 15-20 years. Not that long ago, we celebrated the birthday of one of our 92-year-old, patients, with a special cake. He says he comes to the family and not to the doctor. At the same time, he gets excellent quality care. What else is special about the practice? We believe that our relationships with patients are based on respect and trust. In today's world, when everyone is rushing and all is done by computers and machines, we do have a regular reception with a nice, friendly staff and human beings answer and return calls. We have learned that building trust is a long-term process, so we care for our patients and continue asking questions, who are getting advice from us. Our clinical staff receives tons of continuing medical education so that they can offer the best and the most novel care. How difficult is it to be independent when everything is so expensive? For many years, we have built relations with our vendors. We are very careful with selection of vendors, focusing on medical supplies and other items of a high quality that ultimately benefit our patients. We are one of very few community clinics and we are proud of it. We educate our patients through the weekly column in Daily Herald, every Friday, discussing different skin problems but also today's healthcare. Being in the center of a very large suburban community, we are lucky to have many patients, also new patients. We have survived COVID without closing our doors and we proudly offer weekend hours. Our clinic works like a well-oiled machine, and we hope to continue staying like this for many years to come. Any final words? Please, remember that sun can be a cure and a damaging partner. Follow the safety sun rules in the spring and summer. And come to visit us at 5301 W Keystone Court in Rolling Meadows for more information.
