About
Growing up in a family with both parents working, I spent a lot of time playing Monopoly, Cribbage and other card games with my grandfather while listening to the Cubs on the radio. Those games and conversations helped form my interests in investing, mathematics and service beyond self.
While in high school, I swam and played water polo, had a small part in the school play and was involved in mathletes, chess and National Honor Society. Earning back-to-back IHSA state swimming titles lead to a college scholarship and competing at US Nationals.
I graduated college with a degree in mathematics, and spent 20 years teaching high school mathematics, college calculus and coaching swimming, water polo, tennis and mathletes.
Changes in my personal life allowed me to make the switch from educating students to partnering with families to help ensure they understand and can reach their goals through efficient investing.
I have been in the financial industry since 2017 helping people with liquidity, longevity and estate and legacy strategies. This may be accomplished with retirement planning, college planning and tax-efficient investing. I find serving families and truly partnering with them to accomplish the goals that are most important to them is very rewarding.
I am the organizer/lead volunteer for Watch D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) at Pierce Downers Elementary, because I feel nothing is more important than setting up families for success in all areas of life. Showing positive role models in elementary schools is a great starting point.
When I am not at my daughter's events, I enjoy competitive skydiving and long hikes while tent camping in MN's Boundary Waters.
My bucket list includes to someday go white water rafting, look down at the Earth from space, get my pilots license, SCUBA dive the Blue Hole in Belize and spend retirement spoiling future grandkids.
