HOFFMAN ESTATES – Two of the most significant organizations on the ASD educational and therapeutic landscape in the northwest Chicago area have announced an affiliation. The program will be geared towards maximizing future growth and development for expanded and centralized accessible services in education and therapies. Val Belmonte, president and CEO of the Winston Knolls Education Group, and Joanna Kooistra, president from JMK Behavior Services, Inc. are proud to announce this affiliation that will provide programs, services, support and other resources to families, children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other related disorders. The new program will provide offerings such as; occupational therapy, ABA therapy, speech and language therapy, socialization, psychiatry, social work, academic programs, parent training and education, family counseling, and physical therapy. “Children with ASD need support and assistance in all areas of their development, not simply behavior and academics. Additional therapeutic services would help the students immensely,” said Val Belmonte. “For a parent, it would be much more convenient to be able to go to one place and know that you can get a variety of professional programs and services in one place. And for a parent, the convenience matters.” Winston Knolls Education Group, a state of Illinois 501-(c)-(3) nonprofit organization, is located in Hoffman Estates. They provide specialized education programming, professional related therapy services, family therapy, professional development and transition offerings for individuals with ASD and other special needs. The Winston Knolls School at Hoffman Estates Campus, is a non-public special education Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade high school approved by the Illinois State Board of Education for children (ages 3-21.11) diagnosed with autism spectrum and related disorders.
