Business Insights Presented by Kemper Lakes Golf Club Kemper Lakes building stylish 'members-only' dining room Kemper Lakes Golf Club, the private golf club located in Kildeer in Lake County, is adding a new, updated look which they expect will draw rave review from members and guests alike. Following up on the success of last summer's KPMG Women's PGA Championship golf tournament, a major renovation has begun which will open this fall. The new members-only dining room features a "modern rustic" style, a large island bar, increased seating for members and their guests, wall-mounted televisions, a temperature-controlled wine storage room that will allow Kemper Lakes' extensive wine collection to be kept at ideal temperatures and, next year, updates to the outdoor patio area. can be used for a number of events, including weddings, corporate events, showers, and other events," Hosteland explained. "Lots of time and thought went into planning this new dining room. We wanted to do it right the first time. All of our members are very excited about it." he continued. "With the recent and coming renovations, the entire ambiance of Kemper Lakes is warmer, more inviting and makes us feel like we are going to see our family every time we walk in the door," Kenneth Wolter, Kemper Lakes member, said. It is the first major renovation of the Kemper Lakes clubhouse since 2005, according to John Hosteland, the club's general manager. "We are excited to provide this new space to our members and feel that it is a warranted upgrade as the club continues to grow." Beyond the clubhouse, improvements have also been made to the Kemper Lakes driving range and short game practice areas, including added bent grass areas which added 2,000 square feet to the club's practice greens. Members are able to practice earlier and later into the season and during inclement weather, thanks to the permanent turf mats which have been installed. The club is also adding an additional hitting area facing the opposite direction so that golfers are never forced to hit into the sun, Hosteland said In addition, the Kemper Lakes website has been improved and a mobile app has been developed, which allows members to book tee times and even order food for delivery while playing the course The new venue replaces the former Payne Stewart Room and the pro shop, which has been temporarily relocated on the property "Im really excited about the new renovations to the clubhouse and the golf course," said the clubs owner Steve Jouzapaitis. It is part of my ongoing commitment to make sure that Kemper Lakes stays relevant to its members and the market place. The renovation will afford members additional dining options while at the club, whether it's a casual, fun dining experience in our new room or a quieter, relaxing evening in our current space. The former dining room Kemper Lakes was founded in 1979 and built by James S. Kemper, president and chairman of Kemper Insurance which bordered the course on its southern end. It began as a top-notch public golf course, designed by Ken Killian and Dick Nugent, with a clubhouse facility. From 2012-2014, the course underwent a bunker renovation by renowned local course architect Rick Jacobson.
