Notice of Proposed Property Tax Increase for The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County for 2024 will be held on November 19, 2024 at 8:00 AM Central Standard Time at District Headquarters located at 3S580 Naperville Road Wheaton, IL 60189 in the Council Chambers. Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Judy Malahy, Board Secretary, at 3S580 Naperville Road Wheaton, IL 60189 or via telephone 630-933-7200. II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for the 2023 tax levy were $32,704,143.85. The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2024 are $50,387,471. This represents a 54.07 percent increase over the previous year. III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2023 were $19,045,354.36. The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2024 are $18,820,993. This represents 1.18 percent decrease over the previous year. IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2023 were $52,152,265.21. The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2024 are $69,208,464.
