Case High School BuildingJ. I. Case High School, built in 1966, is a comprehensive public high school for grades 9-12. It is Racine's newest high school and is located on 68 acres in southwest Racine, Wisconsin. Racine has a population of 85,000 and is located 30 miles south of Milwaukee and 65 miles north of Chicago on the shores of Lake Michigan. The city, plus its surrounding area of 90 square miles, has a multicultural population.
Case has a student population of approximately 2,100. Students are offered courses in the five traditional academic areas. Most courses are identified as basic, regular, college prep, or International Baccalaureate. Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in work study, fine arts, business, family and consumer living, and technical education programs. Exceptional education programs are available to students with special needs.
Case's mission is "to provide a positive environment and instruction of the highest quality to ensure that all students have the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attributes they will need to become productive citizens of the world." Case believes that the school exists in a changing world and a dynamic society and must prepare students to live in such a world.
