Business Insight Is Reading and Writing outdated? I realize that majority of the readers of my column are probably long out of school age. It does not bother me at all; contrary, I am happy they read and comment on my articles. 1 would love some younger readers to possibly join them on Daily Herald on-line, where the exact pages can be easily flipped and my column is easily accessible. Why do 1 write? There are several reasons and I will go over them one by one but first, I want to tell you that I am very technology addicted and I love using all the modern apps, bells and whistles. They make my life so much easier and I find more time for everything 1 love, including reading. So this whole adventure with writing has nothing to do with being outdated. But it is a good way to connect with my community. 1. 1 write to share my knowledge. When patients come to see me in the office, we focus on their disease. We can joke and chat but the main point is their medical care. There is no time for not really important since we all have calculators everywhere. It is OK, we can have both opinions and live with them. I have an opinion that every patient should have some sort of insured access to basic healthcare. 1 think it is my discussions or opinions and their time is equally valuable as mine. I do love sharing my knowledge.
