BOOMERS PLAYER SPOTLIGHT KYLE FITZGERALD AARON GLICKSTEIN CHRISTIAN FEDKO BOOMERS BOOMG IF Fitzgerald has played at three different positions in his first two years with the Boomers in addition to seeing brief time on the mound and starting as the designated hitter. The Brookfield, III. native was limited to just 54 games in 2024 due to injury but hit .247 with eight homers and 34 RBIs while crossing the plate 38 times. Chosen by the Boomers in the first round of the 2023 Frontier League Draft at 10th overall, Fitzgerald homered in back-to-back games on June 5 and 6 including a 3-for-3 showing with a walk, a double and two runs scored on June 5. During his first season with the team in 2023, Fitzgerald belted a team best 10 homers while driving home 56 runs. The 56 RBIs were second on the team. Fitzgerald played in 73 games in his first season as a professional, appearing mainly at first base. The right-handed hitter became just the second player in franchise history to hit two grand slams in a season, batting .615 with the bases loaded and driving home 26 runs with the bags packed. Fitzgerald, who owns five career appearances on the mound, led the Boomers in batted balls 100mph or more with 15.
