Remembering 9/11 The 20th Anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001 Saturday, September 11, 2021 2 to 4 p.m. Waubonsee Community College, Sugar Grove Campus Auditorium Join us to view the documentary In the Shadow of the Towers: Stuyvesant High on 9/11, a unique eyewitness perspective on that tragic day and its aftermath. TV-14. SEE Hear a first-person account of the events of 9/11. On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, Joe Dittmar was attending a routine business meeting on the 105th floor of Two World Trade Center, also known as the south tower, when terrorists piloted an airliner into the north tower. One of only seven survivors from that meeting of 54 people, Joe will share his story of that day, as well as historical, personal, ethical and social lessons that can be learned from his experience. Recommended for 6th graders and above. HEAR REMEMBER Share a moment of silence at Waubonsee's Peace Pole. This event is free, but tickets are required. Get tickets at www.waubonseetickets.com.
