Dr. Gerald Helwig, DC holds a B.S. from Western Illinois University, a B.A. from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA, and attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA to receive his doctorate in chiropractic medicine. He opened his first office in 1986 and, through the years, was personally responsible for the treatment and management of tens of thousands of patients. Eventually, he grew his business into multiple offices with many doctors, both chiropractic and medical, as well as physical therapists.
In early 2015, in response to his personal frustration with the overall health care system and mainstream model of patient care, he decided to sell his business and seek out a better model of care for himself, his family, his loved ones, and his future patients. Since then, he has immersed himself in the functional medicine approach, embracing the objective of finding and treating the underlying cause of health issues rather than simply managing symptoms.
Patients are empowered to work with their doctors to transform their lives. It is his honor to help those who are willing to make the necessary changes take charge of their health.
