NOTICE OF PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASE FOR THE VILLAGE OF WINFIELD INCLUDING THE WINFIELD LIBRARY A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for the Village of Winfield, including the Winfield Library for 2021 will be held on November 18, 2021, at 7:00 PM at the Winfield Village Hall, 27 W 465 Jewell Road, Winfield, Illinois 60190, (630) 933-7100. 1. Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Village Manager Curt Barrett, at 27W465 Jewell Road, Winfield, Illinois 60190, telephone (630) 933-7100. II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2020 were $2,520,431. The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2021 are $4,810,110. represents a 91% increase over the previous year. III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2020 were $295,618. The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2021 are $309,538. This represents a 4.5% increase from the previous year. IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2020 were $2,341,021. The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2021 are $5,102,559. This represents a 117% increase over the previous year.
