ClareOaks SENIOR LIVING We're staying in-but reaching out And we urge you to do the same! Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, at Clare Oaks we remain enormously grateful. We're grateful to our staff members and to all the healthcare professionals and first-responders who have risen heroically to this challenge. We're grateful to frontline workers who help us meet the needs of daily life. And we thank our residents as they follow the directives of state and federal agencies. We're heartened by the generous expressions of support from family members and neighbors as we innovate ways to serve our residents and stretch our resources. We screen everyone before they enter Clare Oaks. We enforce a strict visitor restriction policy and practice social distancing. We've cancelled all group activities and closed the common areas. We deploy our in-house TV channel to communicate news updates and keep us "together" though apart. And we're helping residents and their loved ones stay connected with internet apps that bring the world safely to them-because more than ever, family and friends are vital to our well-being. We hope you join Clare Oaks residents and staff in guarding against this global pandemic by Being mindful of the growing list of possible COVID-19 symptoms, which may include changes in appetite or GI distress and a loss of your sense of smell and taste We value the leadership of Governor J.B. Pritzker and applaud his Stay-At- Home executive order. Why? Evidence shows that the spread of COVviD-19 has slowed in states where people have complied with such orders. Our actions now will protect us down the line. Maintaining a healthy, sensible diet and exercise routine Restricting all travel (even when cabin fever starts to rise) We know that difficult days are still to come, and that the inconvenience of self-confinement is the most practical way to protect ourselves and our neighbors. And we will not let down our guard. Throughout each day, I meet with our leadership team and our COVID-19 Task Force coordinator to review our action items related to staffing, supplies and myriad areas that we monitor. Staying in touch with family and friends via phone calls and digital platforms Creating a daily schedule to instill a rhythm and sense of purpose Your support means the world to everyone at Clare Oaks.
