Business Insight presented by Arlington Dermatology Research Progress Many of you know from experience with our practice that we have been very dedicated to medical research for years. Our practice has a team of highly educated and passionate individuals who spend hours on continuing education, deeply researching all novel approaches to medical treatments. I am proud to be the leader of that team. Since my college years and later medical school, I have been always intrigued by discovery and development of new medical molecules and devices. If not for that continuing inquisitive method of practicing medicine, our society would not have the lifesaving medicines and technologies. You may say: nobody dies from skin problems and yes, I can agree that your risk coming from skin issues is less than lung cancer or stroke, but I disagree about ignoring skin problems, which may deteriorate quality of life of millions of people to the level of disability. Some types of skin cancer can kill and, unfortunately, all types of skin cancer events have been growing for years. Some other symptoms associated with skin and immune system like psoriasis and atopic dermatitis eczema are not killers, but they cause multiple discomforts preventing people from leading normal lives, sleeping, developing relationships and more. If not for medical research, we would not have Taltz or Skyrizi, just to name a few. If you ask any of our research patients about their experience, they will tell you how being a part of developing these drugs changed their lives. Medical science and research are never done and satisfied with what we have gained. Yes, we made tremendous progress, but we are still searching for more. There are goals to get 100% improvement with as little as one injection a year. Atopic dermatitis eczema researchers wish for as many options as we have established for psoriasis. Scientists are not happy with any possible side effects, and they are improving their molecules to narrow and target the exact cause of these chronic diseases. We know that our environment has changed how human bodies respond to self-immunity and we know that there is no way we can stop that influence. In many cases, lack of proper nutrition, contaminated water and air pollution can become a trigger of our immune system compromised responses. In some other cases, psychological stress or even one time event of flu or bronchitis can lower our medical defenses and allow our predisposed weaknesses to take a lead in disease initiation. This is why we all should be interested in scientific development of treatments that potentially can help us and others. The best way of learning more about that development is to discuss the novel options and principles of medical research with people who do it daily. I encourage my patients to ask us questions about research. I encourage them to spread the news they learn from us. I make sure that we always stay ahead of the news in public media and ensure we deliver superb service in educating and informing our patients about their most advanced options. I also want my patients to understand why we are so passionate about medical research. And we usually do it by telling stories of other patients whose lives were challenged and later, after being in studies, changed for so much better. Please, ask questions and call our team. Meeting with anybody from my research team is free of any charges. If you know others who might need help and assistance or simply just information, have them call us. In addition to adult studies, we also conduct pediatric studies for young people under 18. We do not need any insurance for these visits or treatments. We care that you learn as much as we can share. And we love what we do. We hope you will love it too.
