After joining the team following a 13-game stint with two different teams in Mexico, Frias started seven games in 2024 and struck out 42 batters in 38.2 innings for the Boomers, finishing with a 2-2 record and a 5.82 ERA. Frias opened his Schaumburg tenure as a reliever in 2023 before joining the rotation, starting six times among his 20 appearances. The Panama native struck out 94 in 67.2 innings, the ninth most in single season history. Frias fanned a franchise record 13 against Windy City on August 19. The NAIA Pitcher of the Year in 2021 at Faulkner University, Frias has pitched for Team Panama as well as appearing in the Nicaraguan Winter League. 36 IF Calarco made two other stops in professional baseball during the year before finding a home with the Boomers in 2024. The north suburban native stepped in to an everyday role in the lineup and played in 43 contests, hitting .329 with seven homers and 35 RBIs. Despite the small sample size, Calarco was third on the team in homers and fifth in RBIs. Calarco spent time in the minor league system of the Texas Rangers. The left-handed hitter spent four years at Northwestern and one at Mississippi and hit 22 homers during his time in Evanston. A graduate of New Trier, Calarco played at Wintrust Field in the IHSA Super Sectional in 2017. 34 P Woolfolk returns to the Boomers after making 35 appearances on the hill, mainly as a late-inning reliever. The right-hander did make a pair of starts as an opener and finished 2-2 with a 4.15 ERA to go with two saves in 43.1 innings, striking out 39. Drafted by the A's in the 13th round of the 2018 draft, Woolfolk spent four seasons in the Oakland system, reaching Class-A Stockton. The right-hander made 37 appearances last year for Stockton, all in relief, finishing out 17 games. Woolfolk pitched in 76 games during his Oakland tenure and struck out 105 over 106.1 innings. A preseason All-American at Mississippi in 2018, Woolfolk set a school record with 12 saves in 2017 and played for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team that summer.
