SCHAUMBURG BOOMERS PLAYER SPOTLIGHT KOBEY SCHLOTMAN JOHN FIORENZA MITCH WHITE Schlotman is back for his third season with the Boomers after suffering an injury late in 2023 that cost him the remainder of that season and all of 2024. Prior to the injury, Schlotman was establishing himself as one of the top left-handed starters in the league and in franchise history. Schlotman sported a record of 10-8 over his first two seasons with the team. The Mount Mercy (Iowa) graduate made eight appearances in 2022, starting six, and followed that with 14 appearances, all starts, in 2023. Schlotman was the opening day starter in 2023 and was voted into the All-Star Game but did not pitch due to injury. Schlotman finished 4-3 in 2022 with a 4.38 ERA and 48 strikeouts over 37 innings, posting the longest scoreless stretch of the season at 19 innings in August and earning a Frontier League Pitcher of the Week award. Schlotman matched a then team record with 12 strikeouts over 7.1 shutout innings against Joliet on August 9, allowing just two hits. The lowa native logged a 3.55 ERA over 78.2 innings in 2023, striking out 58. C Fiorenza missed nearly the entire 2024 season due to injury but returns for a third year with the Boomers this summer. Fiorenza appeared in 37 games in 2023 and established himself as one of the top defensive catchers in the league. The Florida native was behind the plate for the first no-hitter in team history, helping guide three pitchers to the feat. The right-handed hitter made one appearance late in 2024 as an emergency catcher and finished 1-for-4 at the plate with a double and a run scored. Fiorenza made 71 starts behind the plate over three years at Flagler College. 14 P White will begin his second season with the Boomers in 2025 after serving as a reliable member of the bullpen last year. The Michigan native made 37 appearances in his first year as a professional, finishing 3-3 with a 3.42 ERA and 52 strikeouts over 50 innings of work. White set a Frontier League record and matched the minor league baseball mark by striking out five batters in one inning. against Evansville on August 13. White put together two dominant seasons in the Northwoods League with Traverse City playing at a former Frontier League stadium before coming to the Boomers.
