Inside Out Club Dulage's Fall Family 5K is set for 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton. Families run for a cause at Fall Family 5K Elementary School in Naperville as an after-school program for kids in grades K-2. With the theme Walk-Run-Bubble Fun, this year's 5K features a new addition -bubbles on the course as participants finish. "Children and adults alike will love being showered with bubbles," said Marion Ruthig, Executive Director of Inside Out Club DuPage. "The event truly has a community feel with all ages taking part on a beautiful limestone path course." Inside Out Club's mission is to empower children to live each day with good character. The organization encourages children as young as age 3 to develop and practice skills such as empathy. acceptance, perseverance and kindness Services include after- school programs for elementary and junior high school students activities for families and groups and other initiatives. The 5K fundraiser started in autumn 2015 following the successful launch of Inside Out Club at Elmwood Money raised through the event will help Inside Out Club offer more than 5,000 hours of learning per year through the organization's K-5th Grade Series, New Business Designers 4 Good Workshop family volunteering events and community collaborations "This 5K is a place for people to come together for fun and purpose, Ruthig said.
